The Big Lake charter boat is professionally outfitted and has lots of room for guests to walk around and enjoy the time on the water while lines are in trolling for fish. We can accommodate groups of 1-6 people on the Big Lake boat.
Meet Your Guides
Dave (Captain, River Boat)
Captain Dave boasts 20 years as a fishing guide and knows the ins and outs of Michigan rivers by heart. Dave grew up fishing the Muskegon River, and his favorite thing about the job is touring the rivers with customers and finding the perfect spot to catch lots of fish.
Alex (First Mate, River Boat)
Alex has spent 10 years in the charter fishing industry and specializes in knowing just what bait and tackle is needed for the target species, location, conditions, and time of year. Growing up, Alex loved the frequent camping and river fishing trips she took with her family, and decided to pursue a career outdoors doing what she loves. Her favorite thing about job is helping everyone have a great time on the water and enjoy nature.

What ages/experience levels are your trips for?Our charter is perfect for anglers of any experience level. We’ll provide appropriate gear for each guest and any needed instruction on how to use it. All age groups are welcome, but minors 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

What should I bring?Be sure to wear comfortable clothing (we recommend dressing in layers for changing temperatures throughout the day) and bring sun protection such as sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. You may also want to bring a cooler to transport fish home and a camera to capture memories!

Are food and/or drinks provided?Half-day trips include beverages, full-day day trips include beverages, and lunch is provided. You are welcome to bring your snacks on board as well.

Do I need a fishing license?Yes! If you’re 17 years or older, you need a fishing license in our state. You can purchase one online or in-person at bait shops and many major retailers.

Am I required to wear a life jacket?We will provide an appropriate personal flotation device for every person on board. Children under 6 are required to wear their life jacket whenever we are underway.

Do you clean the fish we catch?Yes! We will happily clean your fish and prepare them for you to take home. Tipping for this service is appreciated but not required.

What is your cancellation policy?We require a deposit to reserve your booking. We will refund your deposit if you cancel more than 7 days in advance or if the captain cancels the trip due to hazardous conditions.
